11st sets record for e-commerce sales in Turkey

SK Planet’s e-commerce platform 11st said Tuesday that it set a new record in daily e-commerce sales in Turkey on Nov. 11, reaching 140 million Turkish lira ($36.1 million).

The Nov. 11 promotion, touted as a 24-hour shopping marathon, included special offers such as 111 Volkswagen Golf cars and 111 units of iPhone X, which both sold out within the first hour. 

The first hour of the promotion saw 23,000 orders and 50,000 products sold.

In all, n11.com received 8.4 million visitors who bought a total of 660,000 products in one day.

Since 2015, n11.com has been the top e-commerce operator in Turkey in terms of annual transactional value. In 2016, its online transactions reached $563 million.

On the same day, transactions on the Korean 11st site reached over 64 billion won ($57 million).
