The KDB Foundation held a ceremony to mark the 10th anniversary of its operation at the Korea Development Bank headquarters in Seoul on Wednesday, the company said Thursday.

The ceremony was attended by some 80 people from partner organizations including the Korea Association of Social Welfare Centers and Social Solidarity Bank, along with KDB scholarship recipients and company officials. 

The foundation was created in August 2007. It has engaged in over 20 projects and injected approximately 31.5 billion won ($28 million) over the past decade.

The bank has focused on helping to create jobs for the underprivileged and youths, supporting disabled and single parents to become financially self-dependent, expanding social and welfare infrastructure and raising a promising workforce.

The KDB Triangle project, for instance, is dedicated to improving social prejudice against families of single parents, the company said.

“I extend my appreciation toward all members of partner organizations, those who have shared your expertise with members of the KDB so that the KDB Foundation could faithfully carry out its role for the past 10 years,” KDB Chairman and CEO Lee Dong-gull said in his speech.

“We will continue to exert efforts by finding and supporting those in need so that our society can be a better place.”
