Seoul Global Center is offering psychological counseling on a weekly basis to expats suffering from social conflicts and stress.

The counseling, available in English and Korean, is available on Thursday mornings from 10 a.m. to noon. It is provided by a member of the Korea Employee Assistance Professionals Association.

Up to six 60-minute sessions will be available per person to discuss social conflicts, problems with work-life balance and similar issues.

Michelle Kang from the Seoul Global Center said that the service was started based on problems people presented at the center’s on-site counseling sessions, provided on weekends around the city.

“Some of those who came for the service expressed experience of their emotional distress in relationships at home or work,” she said.

“We see demand for the counseling is expected to increase more, and that’s why we began the psychological counseling service.”

Kang said the center would consider whether to add more language services in the future.

The counseling provided is not a psychiatric service and does not provide medical assistance such as prescriptions.

To book a consultation, call (02) 2075-4131.
