바베이도스의 더 클리프 레스토랑(The Cliff Restaurant)은 톱 스타들이 자주 방문하는 곳으로 유명하다.
클리프 웨이터 클라이슨 포드는 자신의 축구 영웅인 반 페르시를 보자 기쁨을 감추지 못하고 사진 한 장을 같이 찍어달라고 요청했다. 반 페르시는 사진을 흔쾌히 찍어줬지만 레스토랑측은 다이닝룸에서 핸드폰을 사용했다는 이유로 포드를 2주 동안 해고했다. 사진을 찍어준 동료 웨이터에게도 같은 처벌을 가했다고 한다.
레스토랑측은 포드가 더 클리프에서 일한지 4년이나 됐었고 수많은 톱 스타들을 봤지만 이런 적은 처음이라고 한다. 그가 반페르시의 열혈팬이기 때문에 이런 사태가 발생했을 것이라고 일부 언론들은 보도했다.

A Barbados waiter was suspended for two weeks after taking a photo with Manchester United footballer Robin van Persie, according to the Daily Mail.
The Cliff Restaurant in Barbados is famous for the many stars that visit to eat its “special cliff top meal.”
Kyson Forde, who worked at The Cliff Restaurant, couldn’t hide his excitement to see his football hero van Persie and asked him for a photo. Van Persie happily agreed but the restaurant suspended Forde for two weeks for using his cellphone while working. A fellow worker who took the picture of the two was given the same punishment as well.
It is told that Forde has been working for four years at the Cliff and has seen many stars but couldn’t resist to ask for a photo when he saw his football hero.
