Culinary Art @ JW brings global star chefs to JW Marriott Hotel Seoul

JW Marriott Hotel Seoul is hosting a special gourmet project titled “Culinary Art @ JW,” which will showcase gourmet cuisines made by seven star chefs from around the world -- many who are Michelin star-holders -- from May 9-31. From May 9-10, the hotel’s buffet restaurant The Cafe will feature traditional royal palace dishes prepared by Chef Han Bok-jin, an expert on Korean culinary traditions. From May 11-20, Arabian cuisine prepared by Chef Hassan Mohammad Abdallah from The Ritz-Carlton Doha will be offered. Other cuisines ranging from Spanish, Japanese, Italian and Chinese will be offered throughout May. The chefs will come together to present the eight-course “gala dinner” -- priced at 320,000 won, including tax and service charge -- at the hotel’s Grand Ballroom on May 21. Poolside BBQ at Grand Hyatt Seoul

Grand Hyatt Seoul is offering its Poolside Barbeque starting from May 9. The barbeque will feature various grilled meat including sirloin steak, cooked lamb chops, chicken and pork sausage, as well as fresh seafood including squid, cuttlefish and salmon grilled on the spot. A buffet featuring salads, appetizers, side dishes and desserts will also be available. The “Poolside Barbeque” is open from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. every night (weather permitting). The meal is priced at 85,000 won from Monday to Thursday and 95,000 won from Friday to Sunday for adults. Children’s meals are 45,000 won. Family Month promotion at Grand Ambassador Seoul

Grand Ambassador Seoul’s buffet restaurant THE KING’S is offering special promotions in celebration of May, the “Month of Family.” On May 5, the restaurant will offer a special Children’s Day brunch featuring dishes popular among children. Magic balloon-makers and face painters will be present to provide entertainment for the children. The special brunch will be available from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and is priced at 74,000 won for adults and 42,000 won for children, including tax. On May 8, special dishes will be offered in honor of Parent’s Day. From May 6-31, children under 12 and accompanied by two or more adults, and guests who are 65 or older and accompanied by three or more adults will be able to dine for free. Japanese Cooking Classes at The Ritz-Carlton Seoul

The Ritz-Carlton Seoul’s Japanese restaurant Hanazono is holding a special Japanese cooking class from 3-5 p.m. on May 14. The class will begin with a demonstration from the restaurant’s head chef and master of Japanese cuisine Pyo Gil-taek, who has 26 years of experience. Under the theme of “healthy Japanese cooking,” three dishes will be featured: snapper “jorim” stew, soft “chawanmushi” (Japanese-style steamed egg) and cold buckwheat soba noodles made with Hanazono’s special sauce. After the chef’s demonstration, participants will be able to try cooking the featured dishes themselves. The class will end with all participants sitting down and eating the prepared dishes together. Family Month specials at Ibis Ambassador Hotel

Ibis Ambassador Hotel’s Gangnam-gu, Myeong-dong and Insa-dong branches are offering diverse promotions throughout May, the “Month of Family.” On May 5, Children’s Day, any guest with children at the Gangnam-gu and Myeong-dong branch will receive cotton candy. On May 8, Parent’s Day, a group of four or more at the Myeong-dong and Insa-dong branches and six or more at the Gangnam branch will receive a free bottle of wine. Other promotions are available on Teacher’s Day, Coming-of-Age Day and Husband-and-Wife Day as well at different branches.
