Seoulites can experience authentic Ecuadorian cuisine throughout the month for the first time ever thanks to a special promotional drive by the Ecuadorian Embassy here.

The embassy’s commercial office has organized a special program focusing particular attention on the South American country’s shrimp products, at the Orangerie Dining Salon at the Millennium Seoul Hilton Hotel until March 31.

Ecuadorian chef Ruth Maria Moreno was flown in to Seoul to prepare a menu of traditional Ecuadorian food adapted to Korean tastes.

Maria Ruth Moreno has experience both in traditional Ecuadorian dishes as well as global cuisines, and is the host of one of the most popular cooking shows on Ecuadorian television.

The goal of this event is to encourage Korean customers to purchase not just Ecuadorian shrimp products, but other high-quality products such as coffee, chocolate, avocado oil and even the traditional Ecuadorian toquilla straw hat.

Throughout the month, the restaurant will be decorated with Ecuadorian roses, which are regarded as being very high quality, as part of the special food event.
