Ssangyong Motor on Friday debuted the facelift version of the Actyon sport utility vehicle overseas, putting a greater strategic emphasis on the emerging Central Asian and Eastern European markets.

The new Actyon, which boasts a more aggressive and sportier styling, is equipped with a more environment-friendly powertrain that meets the Euro 5 emission limits, according to the Korean carmaker owned by India’s Mahindra & Mahindra.

Adding to its existing 150 horsepower gasoline engine, the new Actyon also comes with a diesel engine that generates 155 horsepower.

Ssangyong’s own four-wheel-drive system and the strengthened steel frame allow incredible off-road performance with well-mannered on-road driving, the carmaker said.

Other safety features include active roll over protection, a brake assistance system and hill start assistant.

The new Actyon, whose export name is Nomad, goes on sale first in Central Asia and Eastern Europe, considering the soaring demand there, with plans to extend its sales in phases to cover other regions.
