해외여행을 즐기는 한국인 여행객 10명중 6명이 “비포 선 라이즈”의 주인공마냥 여행도중 예상치 못한 로맨스를 꿈꾸고 있는 것으로 나타났다.

여행가격 비교사이트 스카이스캐너가 18세 이상의 해외여행 유경험자 1,000명을 대상으로 실시한 “2013년 로맨틱 홀리데이” 설문조사에 의하면 61.4%가 “낯선만남과 로맨스”를 기대하고 있는 것으로 나타났다.

또한, 이런 우연한 만남을 갖을 최적의 장소로는 “해변”으로 꼽았으며 이는 무려 48%의 지지를 받았다.

이어 설문결과에 따르면, 한국 여행객 중 12.9%가 해외여행 중 낯선이와의 데이트를 즐긴 것으로 나타났으며, 이중 남성 여행객은 15.54%로 여성의 9.71%에 비해 약 2배 정도 높았다.

스카이스캐너 김현민 매니저는 “해외에서 누구의 방해도 받지 않고 일상 생활에서 벗어나 홀로 자유를 만끽하는 여행객들의 심리에서 나오는 현상일 것”이라고 말했다. (코리아헤럴드)

Most Korean travelers dream of overseas romance

The majority of South Korean travelers have fantasies about an unexpected romantic encounter with a stranger while traveling, a survey found on Monday.

Skyscanner, a flight information website, conducted a survey of 1,000 South Koreans aged 18 or over who have overseas travel experience. The survey found 61.4 percent of the respondents had thought about a possible romantic date with a stranger during their journey.

The most favored place to have such a moment was the beach at 48.2 percent.

In the survey, 12.9 percent of the respondents said they have had a date with a person they met for the first time while traveling. The percentage of men who’d had such an experience was twice that of females. 

“The notion of traveling holds the idea of escaping from daily routine and being alone, so people tend to fantasize about enjoying freedom and meeting new people,” said Kim Hyun-min, the manager of Skyscanner.
