SBS ‘짝’에 출연해 아름다운 미모로 남자들의 관심을 끌었던 김상미가 홍보성 출연 논란에 휩싸였다.

지난 29일 방송된 SBS ‘짝’에서 여자 1호로 출연한 김상미는 남자 참가자 4명의 도시락 선택을 받으며 ‘인기녀‘로 등극했다.

그러나 김상미는 지난 2008년 ‘4대 바나나걸’로 가요계에 데뷔해 ‘미쳐미쳐미쳐’ 등의 곡을 발표했으며, 뛰어난 미모로 역대 최고의 바나나걸로 꼽히기도 했던 것으로 알려졌다. 김사은이라는 예명으로 활동하던 중 학업을 이유로 활동을 중단했으며, 이후 영화와 뮤지컬에서 활동을 했다.

현재 김상미는 연기자 활동을 준비 중인 것으로 알려져 일부 시청자들은 김상미가 순수하게 짝짓기 프로그램에 출연한 것이 아니라 자신을 알리기 위한 홍보성 출연이 아니냐는 논란을 일으켰다.

한편 SBS 짝의 남규홍 PD는 이러한 논란에 대해 “인터뷰와 방송을 통해 자신의 직업을 밝혔고, 이러한 배경의 사람의 출연이 안된다고 규정하는 것은 도리어 ‘역차별’이기도 하다”고 반박했다. (코리아 헤럴드)

Former singer in dispute over TV matchmaking program

Former singer Kim Sang-mi has been embroiled in a dispute over a popular matchmaking program, with Korean netizens pouring out opinions about her decision to join the show originally reserved for “ordinary people.”

Kim showed up on SBS “Jjak” on Wednesday and monopolized the spotlight with a star-like appearance, easily making her stand out among other non-professional participants. Male participants, naturally, fought to steal attention from Kim. 

It was later revealed that Kim was not exactly an ordinary competitor, as she worked as a professional singer named “Banana Girl” in 2008 and has starred in films and musicals.

When her background was disclosed, viewers and online users attacked Kim and producers, saying that she joined the program in order to promote herself.

In a response to the controversy, the program director said it is reverse discrimination to prevent people of various backgrounds like her from 
participating in the program.
