Heavy snowfall that hit the central part of South Korea disrupted dozens of domestic and international flights on Wednesday, the state-run airport operator said.

At least 15 international flights and two domestic flights bound for the Incheon International Airport were canceled as the weather agency issued a warning for snow earlier in the day, the Korea Airports Corporation (KAC) said.

Heavy snow forced 29 flights bound for Incheon and 66 flights departing from the main gateway to be delayed, it said.

There were 64 domestic flight cancellations across the nation, including 28 at Gimpo International Airport in Seoul, which had received 7.8 centimeters of snow as of 5 p.m., according to officials.

The KAC said additional cancellations could take place depending on the weather conditions.

The Korea Meteorological Administration lifted a snowfall warning in Seoul as of 5:30 p.m., but it warned of icy roads as the temperature is forecast to fall below 0 degrees Celsius on Thursday morning in most parts of the nation. (Yonhap News)
