Psy, along with legendary R&B icon Diana Ross, pop singer Demi Lovato, Megan Hilty from the TV series “Smash,” Chris Mann from “The Voice” and “American Idol” winner Scotty McCreery are all gearing up to spread some holiday cheer in the U.S. capital by performing in front of the Obamas at the 31st “Christmas in Washington 2012” winter special.

The annual holiday performance is traditionally attended by the president and the first lady, and joined by many other prominent figures in Washington, D.C. Psy is scheduled to close the show with a special act but it is not known whether he will take the stage with his signature “Gangnam Style” performance, as the holiday event is traditionally a forum for singing Christmas carols.

“It is true that Psy will be the closing act for the ‘Christmas in Washington 2012’ concert, but we’re not 100 percent certain if he will have the opportunity to perform the horse dance in front of the president and the first lady,” a YG Entertainment official said. “However, since they’re planning to attend, the probability that he will is very high.”

The concert to take place on Dec. 21 will be hosted by comedian and talk show host Conan O’Brien, who is returning as the host of the event for the second year in a row.

After sweeping four awards at the Mnet Asian Music Awards on Friday, Psy is keeping himself busy with his overseas promotions. Next week he is set to make his first appearance on Spanish TV through the variety program “Sabado Gigante,” or “Big Saturday,” which has been classified as “the longestrunning variety show in television history.”

In celebration of the holiday season and the show’s 50th anniversary, the Univision Network has created a primetime winter special titled “December to Remember,” with programming that will air throughout the month. The series will feature an all-star lineup including Tony Bennett, Gloria Estefan, Marc Anthony and Mexican solo artist Thalia. Psy is scheduled to make a guest appearance on the episode airing Dec. 8.
