Following is part of a series of Seoul’s hottest bars and clubs. ― Ed.

Visitors to Seoul often express awe at the variety of nighttime entertainment available in the capital that never seems to sleep.

Hundreds of restaurants are open 24 hours and most of them offer delivery services. Bars and clubs do not close until 5 a.m. and most clubs stay open as late ― or as early ― as 7 a.m. In fact, staying at the club till it closes and then going out for breakfast is de rigueur for serious clubbers here.

Gangnam district, south of the Han River, is where the most luxurious clubs are located. Among the top choices here is Club ANSWER, located across from Hotel Prima in Cheongdam-dong.

Every Friday and Saturday night, crowds in classy outfits ― the dress code here is “dress to impress” ― form a long line, waiting to get in. Though it is one of the oldest clubs in Korea, the place is still regarded as one of the best.

The place is famous for its exquisite, spacious interior and high-quality sound system that belts out its signature sounds of electronic, house and funk. Add to that the brilliant lighting system, and you have what could be one of the best clubbing experiences in town.

While foreigners tend to stick to foreigner-friendly Itaewon, Club ANSWER’s reputation attracts the highest numbers of foreign club-goers for a Gangnam club.

The club can accommodate up to 1,500 people and the VIP rooms on the first and third floors can be used for private parties. But what really fuels the club’s “undying” fame and reputation are its continuous facilities improvement as well as new and unique events held every weekend.

For years, the club has invited top singers visiting Korea, including Lady Gaga in 2009 and Will.i.am of the Black Eyed Peas in February this year. Invitational parties with major DJs have featured Benni Benassi and Ferry Corsten, renowned DJs and producers.

There is a cover charge of 30,000 won. Shots cost about 10,000 won and cocktails go for 15,000 won.

Tables start at 370,000 won and rooms go up to 1 million-1.5 million won. The club is open from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.
