The Korea Communications Commission will run an exhibition booth during the two-day Nuclear Security Summit from Monday to offer opportunities for global leaders and foreign media to experience the nation’s advanced telecom and broadcasting technologies.

The booth, located at COEX in southern Seoul, the venue for the Seoul summit that starts on Monday, will focus on the fourth-generation Long Term Evolution network service under the slogan “with SMART KOREA.”

Diverse LTE devices and services such as smartphones, mobile apps and online games will be featured during the event. In Korea, where smartphone users passed the 20 million mark in December, there are more than 3 million LTE subscribers.

Some of the space will be dedicated to introducing the K-pop, which is enjoying growing popularity around the world. Visitors can experience the latest songs and music videos of K-pop artists via LTE phones and large-screen Organic Light Emitting Diode television sets.

Convergence services integrating broadcasting and telecom technologies are also expected to attract interest from visitors. They include Smart Home Pad, a tablet PC designed for middle-age users who are unfamiliar with smart devices and Internet-based content services, and Kibot2, a nanny robot that offers educational content.

KT, which will support network services at the summit venue, also plans to offer a press tour program for journalists from around the world during the event.

The booth will be situated at the International Media Center on the first floor of COEX. Following the two-day event, it will be opened to the public for only one day on Wednesday.
