Overseas instructors are being sought to teach a multicultural education program to Korean kids. The Seoul Youth Center for Cultural Exchange is seeking volunteers to help on its 2012 Deep-rooted World Cultural Heritage (MIZY) program.

Foreign citizens aged 19 or older are invited to teach their country’s culture and world heritage sites to native Koreans.

Volunteers will deliver lectures about world cultural heritage and create class materials to inspire cultural diversity in young people here.

Participants must be able to attend a training session on March 10, a workshop on March 17 and a practice class on either March 24 or 31.

They will then be expected to teach classes on Saturdays from 10:30-12 p.m. at elementary schools and a youth center, the Children’s Welfare Center and the MIZY Center in Seoul.

MIZY is operated by the Korean National Commissions for UNESCO by the Seoul Metropolitan Government and is running the program to help promote global exchange and understanding.

Volunteers will be provided with 20,000 won in expenses per trip as well as a cultural trip for themselves.

For more information or to apply go to http://wch.mizy.net/. All applications must be received by Feb. 19.

Received resumes will be screened on Feb. 22 with interviews then held on Feb. 24 and 25.
