Blackpink is celebrating the fifth anniversary of its debut with a movie that will hit cinemas in over 100 countries, said label YG Entertainment on Wednesday.

Titled “Blackpink The Movie,” it will premiere Aug. 8, although release dates may differ in some countries. The film will show the quartet reminiscing over shared memories and include never-before-seen interviews with the bandmates.

There will also be performances from its January digital concert “The Show,” as well as the 2018 concert “In Your Area,” so fans can relive the moments.

The movie is part of the “4+1 Project” the band announced the day before.

On its fourth anniversary last year, the group presented a “Frozen” version of its hit song “How You Like That.” Fans, in turn, put Blackpink pictures on a satellite and hosted a drone show.

Tomorrow X Together succeeded in sending four consecutive albums to the top of Japan’s Oricon chart.

According to the most recent tally Wednesday, its second full album, “The Chaos Chapter: Freeze,” rose to the top of the weekly album chart, selling over 76,800 units.

The boy band’s second and third EPs -- “The Dream Chapter: Eternity” and “minisode 1: Blue Hour” -- also ranked No. 1 along with its first Japanese LP, “Still Dreaming.”

This made the quintet the fourth international act and the second foreign male act to achieve the feat, said Oricon.

“0X1=Lovesong (I Know I Love You) feat. Seori,” landed at the top of Line Music’s weekly top song chart. It has been No. 1 on the daily top song chart for six days.

TXT is following it up with “Magic,” which it performed for the first time on US television show “Good Morning America” last week.

Taeyeon of Girls’ Generation is coming out with new solo music in July, media reports suggested Wednesday. Her label, S.M. Entertainment, confirmed the news and asked fans to keep their expectations high.

After the report came out, she uploaded a poster of clouds in the sky with the phrase “new song.” She shared a selfie with her dog on her Instagram on Tuesday and her fans were excited to see that she had dyed her hair orange.

It has been seven months since her fourth EP, “What Do I Call You,” which swept major music charts in South Korea.

The singer recently was featured in “If I Could Tell You,” a song from Taemin’s solo EP “Advice.” She is currently appearing on a weekend variety show on a cable television network.

WayV launches first unit

Kun and Xiaojun of WayV are putting out a record Wednesday, forming the band’s first unit.

The two teamed up for the three-track record, titled “Back to You,” which will be fully unveiled with a music video for the title track. “Back to You” is a ballad that compares love to a flame that changes with time, shrinking into a flicker before blazing again. It comes in two versions: Chinese and English. “Sleepless” is more sentimental, a song about missing a lover who left.

The pair will perform the title song for the first time Thursday on a television music chart show and will deliver a live broadcast Monday to discuss the new music with fans from around the world.

The seven-piece act debuted in 2019 and released its third EP, “Kick Back,” in March. With that EP it rose to the top of the iTunes charts in 25 regions.
