Riding on the higher emphasis of work and life balance in South Korea, Nissan Korea features the new Pathfinder that was first introduced in the market in 2014, when the family-focused sports utility vehicle market was relatively premature.

Pathfinder, the Japanese automaker’s representative large seven-seat SUV, is fit for running off-road while securing an increasingly spacious interior, convenient features and strong performance with each generation of the vehicle.

The new Pathfinder released in South Korea has some new added features including a V-motion grill on the front exterior, and boomerang-shaped LED head and tail lights

In particular, in addition to the existing “intelligent around” view monitor and the “intelligent blind spot intervention” functions for safety, the new Pathfinder has the automaker’s latest “intelligent mobility” features that include emergency braking and distance control systems.

It has secured the highest five star grading from the New Car Assessment Program by the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The “hand’s free PWR lift” gate enables a driver with both hands occupied with, for instance, bags of groceries to open a trunk with using a foot motion.

Equipped with a 3.5-liter six-cylinder VQ engine, the Pathfinder has 263 horsepower and an average fuel efficiency of 8.9 kilometers per liter. It is the only seven-seat SUV with a trailer towing function.

Those available in Korea will be top trim Platinum ones priced at 53.9 million won. (khnews@heraldcorp.com)
