London taekwondo silver medalist to pursue gold in Rio

South Korean taekwondo fighter Lee Dae-hoon settled for silver at the 2012 London Olympics in the men's -58kg class, despite his favorite status.

For the Rio de Janeiro Olympics, Lee moved up to -68kg, and is still the title favorite. He will have a chance to finally live up to the tag on Thursday.

Lee has often said he struggled so much to keep his weight down in London that he barely remembers anything else about his first Olympics. In a heavier division, Lee said he's been better able to focus on his training and also to enjoy taekwondo more.

Elsewhere on Thursday, the women's doubles team of Jung Kyung-eun and Shin Seung-chan will try to win South Korea's first badminton medal in Rio.

The fifth-ranked team will face Tang Yuanting and Yu Yang, the world No. 2 from China, in the bronze medal match. The South Koreans lost their only previous meeting in April this year. (Yonhap)
