The top diplomats from South Korea and France plan to have talks in Paris on Friday to exchange views on Iran's nuclear deal and North Korea's nuclear weapons program, Seoul's foreign ministry said.

Foreign Minister Yun Byung-se will meet with his French counterpart Laurant Fabius to discuss the landmark Iranian nuclear deal and its implications on the North's nuke issue, the ministry added.

Yun stopped by Paris on Friday after participating in a U.N. conference on financing for development held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, this week.

The ministry said that they plan to assess the conclusion of Iran's nuke deal with the five permanent members of the U.N. Security Council and Germany.

He also plans to solicit strong support from France and the European Union to resolve the North's nuclear program, it added.

They will discuss how to cooperate on preparing for a set of celebratory events as next year marks the 130th anniversary of the establishment of the Seoul-Paris ties.

Yun will also exchange views on ways to collaborate in a global conference concerning climate changes, to be chaired by France, that will be held in Paris in December, it said. (Yonhap)
