Renault Samsung Motors on Sunday unveiled its updated QM5 crossover utility vehicle that aims to enhance the carmaker’s image as a quality manufacturer of upper-end cars.

The new QM5 is a makeover of the existing vehicle with streamlined exterior lines, rearranged headlamps and a radiator grille that gives it a more “urban” style that could be more attractive to Korean consumers.

The company, which is the local unit of French automaker Renault SA, added that it has revamped the interior using higher-quality materials.

The new QM5, which goes on sale July 1, will have the latest 2.0 dCi engine produced by the Renault-Nissan alliance that will give the 2.0 diesel engine model a fuel efficiency of 15.1 kilometers per liter of fuel. This is an improvement over the last model’s 13.8 kilometers per liter.

The new crossover vehicle will come with either a diesel or gasoline engine and feature both two-wheel and four-wheel drive systems.

The company said the price of the new QM5 base model has been set at 23 million won ($21,300) with the price rising to 32 million won for vehicles with full options.
