French automaker PSA Peugeot Citroen and German automaker Volkswagen AG will recall 3,241 vehicles in South Korea due to defective parts in their braking systems and fuel pipes, the transportation ministry said Sunday.

   Peugeot's 2,962 vehicles manufactured and sold here between Dec. 15, 2006 and Feb. 24, 2009 are subject to the recall, according to the Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs.

   Peugeot's vehicles include the 307 HDI FAP, 307 SW HDI FAP, 308 HDI FAP, 308 CC HDI FAP, 308 SW HDI FAP, 407 2.0 HDI and 407 SW 2.0 HDI, the ministry said.

   They were found to have defective parts in their braking systems that could extend braking distances, the ministry said.

   Volkswagen's 279 Jetta 2.5 models manufactured and sold here between Nov. 29, 2008 and Jan. 6, 2009 are also subject to the recall, due to possible fuel leakage that could stem from defective fuel pipes, according to the ministry.

   Owners of the vehicles can receive repairs for free at Peugeot- and Volkswagen-affiliated service centers from Monday, the ministry added.

푸조·폴크스바겐 차량 3천241대 리콜

체크밸브 미작동·누유 가능성

    (서울=연합뉴스) 이상헌 기자 = 국토해양부는 푸조의 일부 디젤 모델과  폴크스 바겐의 제타에서 제작결함이 발견돼 수입사인 한불모터스와 폴크스바겐코리아가  자 발적으로 리콜한다고 27일 밝혔다.

    리콜 대상 푸조 차량은 2006년 12월15일에서 2009년 2월24일까지 제작돼 수입 판매된 디젤 승용차 7차종(307 HDI FAP·307 SW HDI FAP·308 HDI FAP·308 CC HDI

FAP·308 SW HDI FAP·407 2.0 HDI·407 SW 2.0 HDI) 2천962대이다.

    이들 차량에서는 브레이크 진공펌프의 체크밸브가 작동되지 않아 제동거리가 길 어질 수 있는 것으로 조사됐다.

    폴크스바겐의 리콜 대상은 2008년 11월29일부터 2009년 1월6일까지 제작돼 수입 판매된 제타 2.5 모델 279대로, 워셔액 돌출부위와 연료호스의 간섭으로 연료가  누 유돼 화재가 발생할 가능성이 있다고 국토부는 설명했다.

    해당 자동차 소유자는 28일부터 수입사 서비스센터에서 무상수리를 받을 수  있고, 리콜 전 수리 비용도 청구할 수 있다.
